海角社区 (海角社区) is excited to announce the launch of its new Aviation Professional Pilot Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree, set to begin in the fall of 2025. This innovative program will provide students with the knowledge and hands-on training needed for successful careers in the aviation industry.

The program, which will be part of 海角社区’s Skilled Trades Division, is a five-semester curriculum that combines classroom instruction at 海角社区 with hands-on lab and flight training at the Mason City Airport. Delivered in partnership with North Iowa Air Service, the program offers students a comprehensive educational experience, covering essential topics such as aerodynamics, flight operations, navigation, and aviation safety.

“North Iowa Air Service is thrilled to partner with 海角社区 for the Aviation Professional Associate of Applied Science degree,” said Todd Kyle, Owner / President of Charles City Aeronautics, Inc., d/b/a North Iowa Air Service. “My grandfather began this business in 1957 teaching people how to fly in North Iowa. We are thrilled to continue and expand that tradition with 海角社区. We look forward to working with them to grow and expand this program for years to come.”

Students will gain critical certifications and real-world flying experience, preparing them for a wide range of aviation careers, including private and commercial piloting, flight instruction, and other specialized roles within the industry.

“This program is an incredible opportunity for students passionate about aviation to turn their dreams into reality,” said Laura Wood, Dean of Agriculture and Skilled Trades. “By offering both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, we’re setting our graduates up for success in one of the most exciting and rewarding industries out there.”

Graduates of the Aviation Professional Pilot AAS program will leave 海角社区 ready to take on the challenges of the rapidly evolving aviation field, equipped with the skills and certifications required for a wide range of aviation careers.

Enrollment for the program is now open, with classes set to begin in August 2025.
